Gibson’s timeless masterpiece tells the story of Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan. After Helen’s parents struggle to raise the young girl, who is both blind and deaf, they hire a young but determined teacher, Annie Sullivan, to try to teach her to communicate.
Sullivan, who has also been blind, fights to pull Helen out of her world of isolation and confusion. Although no one has ever broken through to a child who is both blind and deaf, Sullivan is determined to teach language to Helen. After pushing past her own insecurities and the doubts of Helen’s family, Sullivan is finally able to reach Helen and opens the entire world to her. THE MIRACLE WORKER is a moving story that inspires us to pursue the dreams in our own lives that may seem impossible. FC Theatre Arts will present THE MIRACLE WORKER in the intimate 130 seat Studio One Theatre on September 20 & 21 at 7:30 p.m. and September 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 adults, $6 students.
