Rethink Church presents We love our kids!, a family-friendly community event at Slate Run Elementary School on Saturday, September 15. The fun begins at 12 pm.
Activities for the kids will include Wii game stations, painting, reading, jump rope, free pop corn and yogurt, and much more! Parents will be able to take part in free vision, blood pressure and other health related checks, sign their kids up for after school homework help, learn valuable gardening tips, and more.
Bluegrass E-cycle will be on-site to recycle your tech trash for free! You are encouraged to bring your old cell phones or computers along to have them recycled. Free frisbees will be given out to the first 100 people who participate, and everyone who recycles an old device gets entered to win a new computer system. Guests are also encouraged to bring donations of school supplies to the event.
Awards and prizes will be presented at the closing ceremony, held from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. At 5 pm, there will be a Celebration service at Trinity United Methodist Church with free refreshments, music and entertainment.
Volunteers are still needed for the event. If you are interested in lending a hand, please attend the last Saturday morning meeting being held on September 8 at 10:30 am at Trinity United Methodist on Charlestown Road in Room 1. This meeting is important as you can familiarize yourself with the event layout during this time.
