Harrison County-Shortly before noon today, Master Trooper Mark Strange was dispatched to Kintner Bottom Road near Laconia for a call to investigate two suspicious males in a vehicle who had stopped at a residence and asked for food.
When Master Trooper Strange arrived in the area he located a vehicle on Kintner Bottom Road that matched the description given. The vehicle, a 2002 Nissan Altima, was occupied by two white males and when they saw Master Trooper Strange they fled. They were able to elude Master Trooper Strange at first, but as Master Trooper Strange continued to look for the car, he located it unoccupied off of the roadway in a clear cut area near Behr Circle Road, approximately one and a half miles from where he first saw it on Kintner Bottom Road. As Master Trooper Strange continued his investigation he found out the vehicle was stolen out of Corydon, IN.
Master Trooper Strange could not locate the occupants of the vehicle so he called for Indiana State Police K-9, “Kilo” and his handler, Trooper Nathan Abbott, to come to the scene. Several other troopers and deputies from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene along with “Kilo”. “Kilo” was released in the area and a few minutes later he picked up the tracks of the two males. Approximately five minutes after picking up the tracks, Kilo located both males hiding in a wooded area approximately one mile from where the car was abandoned. Both males were taken into custody.
