Holly S. Jones, Bristol D. Frazier and Caroline E. Reis, all of Charlestown, were awarded $1,300 from the Masonic Scholarship Board of the Grand Lodge of Indiana, Free and Accepted Masons. Emily Shaw was awarded the Blazing Star scholarship.

The Scholarship Board of the Grand Lodge of Indiana distributes earnings from an endowment, making it one of the largest fraternal scholarship funds in the country. Since its inception over six million dollars have helped over 6,000 Hoosier students realize their educational goals. Children and stepchildren of Master Masons and Master Masons who demonstrate academic merit, financial need and community participation may apply for scholarships if they are attending an Indiana College or University.
Jones, Frazier and Reis were three of 293 selected from more than 400 applicants this year. All were sponsored by his or her father or stepfather on his own merits as a Master Mason, and are members in good standing of Blazing Star Lodge #226 F & AM, Charlestown.
Jones, Frazier and Reis plan to apply their Masonic scholarship award toward the coming year expenses at the Indiana college or university they plan to attend.
