Little log cabin is 2012 Kids House being raffled PDF Print E-mail

The 2012 edition of the Kids House, an Amish-made log cabin suitable for a child's playhouse or a tiny home-away-from-home, is being raffled off by members of the Scottsburg Beautification Committee through Saturday, August 11.

This Kids House offers a swing on its front porch. Walking in, visitors can see the stairs leading to its half-loft, and the structure is air-conditioned. The winner will also receive free plants and mulch provided by Arbuckle's Pop's Plants and free transportation and set-up.

Past winners have used their Kids House as play areas for children, fishing shacks, hobby corners and for just plain relaxing beside a pond or stream.

Persons wanting to buy chances on the Kids House can see the tiny home on display during the Scott County Fair. After the fair, it will be transported and set up at the Scottsburg Wal-Mart through Wednesday morning, August 8. On that date, it will be moved to Scottsburg's Beechwood Park, where it will remain until claimed by the winner. That winner will be announced Saturday night during the annual Pig Roast in the Park.

Cost is $2 per ticket; three tickets for $5; eight tickets for $10; and 20 tickets for $20.

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Scottsburg Beautification Committee, which sponsors Pig Roast in the Park.
