On July 15 at approximately 10 p.m., a red 1991 Dodge, driven by Joel A. Van Bree, 19, from Broadleaf Court, Lanesville, was travelling west on Whiskey Run Road near the Floyd County Line in Harrison County, when for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway on the north side of the road striking a tree.
After striking the tree, the vehicle flipped and then begin skidding, ejecting Joel A. Van Bree from the vehicle.
Joel A. Van Bree was pronounced dead at the scene by the Harrison County Coroner’s Office.
He was not wearing his seat belt.
