Driver and passenger hurt when motorcycle hits deer on State Road 356 PDF Print E-mail

Both the driver of a motorcycle and his passenger were injured on Tuesday night, June 19, when the vehicle struck a deer on State Road 356 in Lexington Township.
The driver was identified as Jerry D. Pike, 48, Deputy, and his passenger as Felicia M. Hartman, 32, Hanover.
Pike said they were riding westbound on S.R. 356 on his 1979 Honda motorcycle when they hit the deer around 10:18 p.m. He lost control and laid the motorcycle down on its side before he and Hartman fell off. The cycle slid to a stop on the highway. Pike suffered elbow/lower arm injuries while Hartman’s injuries were to her knee/lower leg/foot. They were treated by Scott County EMS technicians at the scene.
Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at up to $10,000.
