“We welcome and encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the day in Bethlehem as we celebrate the christening of the new playground, The Star,” stated David Abbott, Historic Bethlehem, Inc. member and co-chairman of the upcoming Autumn on the River Festival.
He added, “This dedication shows the type of community pride we have in Bethlehem. This is a prime example of how the community comes together and works together to make things happen. This project was a huge success because of the people who were dedicated to making this a reality. The playground is something that the youth in Bethlehem will enjoy for years to come. We are also going to place picnic tables and benches around the play area so families can come and enjoy a day in Bethlehem with a family picnic and make lots of memories.”
The event will also feature Charlestown’s own David Broughton performing Gospel and new traditional music.
“David has agreed to come and play for us. He will play his trumpet and entertain the crowd during the dedication ceremony. We are looking forward to this special performance,” Abbott said.
Abbott concluded, “I encourage everyone to put the kids in the car and go pick up Grandma and Grandpa and travel down to Bethlehem for a great day. We will have a fantastic day where families can make lots of memories. Families can make a day out of it and not have to spend a lot of money.”
