Floyd Central’s basketball team will present the Floyd Central Highlander Boys Basketball Camps that will run throughout the month of June. All sessions will take place at Highland Hills Middle School. The camp director will be FC varsity coach Randy Gianfagna.
The first session, which takes place from May 29 through June 1, will split the campers up into two age groups: grades 3rd through 5th will meet from 10 am to noon, and students grades 6th through 9th will meet from noon to 2 pm. The first session is primarily an introductory course, where campers will receive a basketball and a t-shirt for use during the rest of the camps.
The other four sessions will include all campers from 3rd to 9th grade and meet every appointed day from 8:30 am to 12 pm. Session 2 will be held on June 5 – 7, session 3 on June 12 – 14, session 4 on June 19 – 21, and session 5 (the final session) on June 26 – 28.
The total cost of participating in Highlander Boys Basketball Camp is $700. The total fee will come to $550 for a second camper in the same family, and $400 for every additional camper. Fees will be collected incrementally during the five sessions. Financial assistance is available upon request.
The camp will feature weekly guest speakers from the collegiate level of basketball, daily contests and basketball games, top-notch instruction in areas of technical aspects of the game (shooting, ball handling, dribbling, etc.), and more!
Campers do not have to attend every session, and will not have to pay for sessions they choose to not attend, however, future Floyd Central basketball players should attend as many sessions as possible.
Enrollment will be limited, so register as soon as possible. Checks should be made payable to NAFC Schools and mailed postmarked by the Thursday before the week before the next session to: Larry Schellenberg, 335 B Jackson Street, New Albany, IN 47150.
