FC claims HHC girls’ track title PDF Print E-mail

The Floyd Central Lady Highlanders won last week’s Hoosier Hills 2012 Conference meet. The Ladies scored 114.50, beating Columbus East and Seymour High Schools who had 104 and 103, respectively. The following are results from Floyd Central athletes who scored for the Lady Highlanders.


Floyd Central’s team came in second in the 4x 800 Meter Relay with a time of 10:23.30 and 8 points. Members of the team were Jamie Bierman, Lacy Emerson, Alyssa Moore and Jamie Wallace.
Two FC students ranked in the preliminaries for the Girls 100 Meter Dash. Carmen Keehn came in 11th and Emma Poff came in 15th place.
Madison Kaiser came in 2nd and Kim Foster came in 5th during the Girls 100 Meter Hurdles preliminaries. Kaiser went on to place 5th in the finals, Foster came in 4th.
Carmen Keehn placed 9th  in the Girls 200 Meter Dash preliminaries, followed by Rachel Denison who came in 13th. Neither placed in the finals.
In the finals for the Girls 1600 Meter Run, Baylee Balgemann placed 4th, followed by Bierman in 5th.
The Floyd Central team placed 5th in the Girls 4x 100 Meter Relay. The team consisted of Ali Anderson, Rachel Denison, Rachael Kavagazoff and Carmen Keehn.
Jamie Wallace came in 3rd place and Kelsey Mayfield came in 4th in the Girls 400 Meter Dash finals.
Tori Kingsley placed 3rd and Leah Ellis placed 4th in the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles finals.
In the Girls 800 Meter Run, Alyssa Moore came in 4th place, followed by Jamie Bierman in 6th place.
Moore placed 4th and Zoe Doebbler placed 5th in the Girls 3200 Meter Run.
The Lady Highlander saw their first win of the convention in the Girls 4x 400 Meter Relay. Members of the team were Lucy Brown, Rachel Denison, Sharon Jecker and Tori Kingsley.
Emma Poff placed 7th in the Girls Long Jump event. Ali Anderson was right behind her in 8th place.
Schvler Cerqueria landed in 3rd place in the Girls High Jump. Alyssa Moore also competed, but did not place in the finals.
Leah Wolf took the Lady Highlanders first individual win of the competition, placing 1st in Girls Discus Throw. Alex Jewell also competed in the event but she did not place.
In the Girls Shot Put event Madison Kaiser placed 3rd.
Rachael Kavgazoff won in Girls Pole Vault and Abby Marguet took 7th in the finals.
The Lady Highlanders carried their conference title into this week’s girls’ track sectional.
