Two arrested in Pekin bank robbery; tie-in with Scottsburg crime certain PDF Print E-mail

A couple remains behind bars in Delaware, Ohio, in connection with the bank robbery that occurred in Pekin on Monday morning, April 30, and the robbery that occurred at the Scott County State Bank on April 24.

Billy J. Dugard and Ashley Owens, no ages or addresses available, were located in the small Ohio town north of Dayton and taken into custody on Wednesday, May 2. Criminal charges were filed against both in Washington County Circuit Court that same day.
Dugard is accused of being the man who entered the PNC Bank in Pekin and demanding money. He was given an undisclosed amount and left the bank. He  was seen entering a vehicle being driven by a woman.
The couple’s identities were learned by law enforcement in Washington County early Wednesday morning. Clear photos taken of the bank robber as he entered the PNC branch assisted in solving the crime, according to Sheriff Claude Combs.
According to information received, Scottsburg police became very interested in that robbery, hoping to connect it with a similar robbery that happened at the Scott County State Bank in downtown Scottsburg on Tuesday morning, April 24.
But local law enforcement may have to wait its turn to charge Dugard on the Scottsburg incident. He may also be wanted for a bank robbery in Lake County, Ind.
Dugard was tentatively identified through surveillance camera footage as the criminal who robbed a bank there as well, according to a Washington County deputy sheriff.
Information about the whereabouts of the stolen money was not available.
The couple should be extradited back to Indiana this week.
