Goodwill’s Tornado Relief Assistance PDF Print E-mail

Goodwill of Southern Indiana, Inc. has issued vouchers to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army for the victims of Friday’s tornados. The vouchers will enable the tornado victims to come to all Southern Indiana Goodwill stores and obtain whatever items they need free of charge.
In addition, if members of the public want to donate gently used items for the tornado victims, please bring them to any of the 11 area Southern Indiana Goodwill stores stating the donation is for tornado relief. The donated items will be given to the Red Cross and Salvation Army in vouchers at no cost. Candice Barksdale, CEO of Goodwill of Southern Indiana, said; “We are giving the total value of donations to the Red Cross and Salvation Army.  Goodwill has been a part of the Southern Indiana community for over 80 years. These are our family members, neighbors and friends who were affected by the tornados. We are honored to give the value of the donations Goodwill receives to the Red Cross and Salvation Army. These vouchers will allow our community members who suffered losses to come into the Goodwill stores and get clothing, household supplies, furniture, toys and anything they need.”
Goodwill of Southern Indiana has had a partnership in place with the Red Cross and other partner agencies to provide vouchers for people in crisis situations for over 80 years and the tornado crisis is no exception.
If you wish to donate to Goodwill for the tornado victims bring items to any Southern Indiana Goodwill store. If your company, civic group, or faith based organization wants to conduct a donation drive call Goodwill of Southern Indiana at 812-283-7908 to have donation boxes delivered.
