Former Salem High School Athletes and friends of SHS athletics were speaking out on facebook about the loss of Athletic Director Randy Johnson.

“There was no better athletic director and hard worker than Randy Johnson. You touched the lives of so many and you will be greatly missed!” Vanessa Newkirk Read.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Randy Johnson. He was a good man who didn't get the credit he deserved for his work for Salem Schools. He will be dearly missed and never replaced. R.I.P. Big Unit!” Derek Early.

“I am so lucky to have known Randy Johnson. Some of my fondest memories at SHS involve Randall and the good ole Salem Cheer Block and how he KNEW we were always up to no good. SHS will never be the same. Love you, Randall!!” Natalie Ewen
