Henryville man killed in fatality on Interstate 65 North Bound Near the 11.5 Mile Marker PDF Print E-mail

An update to the motorcycle fatality that occurred shortly before midnight on July 28th, 2011 in which Charles R. Cahall Jr., 42, of Mt. Zion Road in Henryville, IN was killed.


Originally witnesses at the scene told troopers the motorcycle Charles R. Cahall Jr. was driving collided with a semi-tractor and trailer. However, after Indiana State Police Crash Reconstructionist studied the crash scene and the crashed motorcycle, it has been determined that no other vehicles were involved. Indiana State Police Crash Reconstructionist have determined that the operator of the motorcycle, Charles R. Cahall Jr., appeared to have locked up the brakes and lost control of the motorcycle causing the fatality crash.


Shortly before midnight on July 28th, witnesses told troopers that a motorcycle was North on Interstate 65 at a high rate of speed swerving in and out of traffic when it crashed around the 11.5 Mile Marker, near Sellersburg. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and alcohol did play a role in this crash. The motorcycle involved was a 2006 Harley Davidson.
