Charlestown PD launches anonymous crime tip line PDF Print E-mail

The Charlestown Police Department, in an effort to assist investigators in solving criminal cases and investigating illegal drug activity, has launched an anonymous crime tip?line.  
Anyone witnessing or believing they have accurate information about any crime or illegal drug activity in Charlestown, is asked to call the new tip line at 812?256?CHPD (2473), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Citizens should not use the crime tip line to report crimes in progress or emergency situations. Messages left on the anonymous tip line will be checked on a daily basis, and all information provided will be evaluated and used to help solve existing criminal cases as well as investigate new information.
Helpful information to leave on the tip line includes any known suspect names, physical descriptions, vehicle types and license plate numbers, and the time of day and/or day of the week occurred. Any and all information may help the department solve any case, suspicious activity information routinely solves cases that the general public may not know exist.
