RUBY JEFFRIES VOYLES, 39, Jeffersonville, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
She was a graduate of New Washington High School and was the Human Resource Manager at the Oldcastle Glass, Inc. in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband: G. Wayne Voyles of Jeffersonville; her daughter: Syndney Lynn Voyles of Jeffersonville; her father: Freddie Jeffries; her brother: Joe Curry of Crestwood, Ky.; and her sister: Rebecca David of Nicholasville, Ky. She was preceded in death by her mother: Shirley Louise Jeffries.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Burial followed at Charlestown Cemetery.


ALVIA FULTZ, 98, Salem, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at The Waters of Salem.
He was born on July 22, 1912 in Washington County to George and Amanda Spaulding Fultz.
Survivors include his daughter: Janice Kuntz of Salem, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife: Esther Ellen Chastain Fultz; two sons: Jerry Lee and Robert Wayne Fultz; four brothers, two sisters and his parents.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial followed in Crown Hill Cemetery.


VIRGINIA M. ZINK, 85, Salem, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
She was born on June 17, 1926 in Washington County to Russell and Madge Bower Miller. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her two sons: Gary (Lynda) Zink of Salem and Larry (Sarah) Zink of Mansfield, Tx.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services were held and burial followed in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Washington County Community Foundation.


HELEN MARIE BROADY ROSE,63, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Indiana.
She was born June 9, 1948 in Scott County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Zebbie John and Juanita (McQuilling) Broady. Helen was a retired secretary & bookkeeper for the old Yount's Accounting Service and a member of Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church both in Scottsburg, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband:Robert B. Rose. Survivors include a uncle: Marvin (June) Broady of Scottsburg, Indiana; a aunt: Bertha (Wheeler) Marion of Seymour, Indiana; Cousins: Billy McClellan of Scottsburg, Indiana, Tony Rutherford of Seymour, Indiana & Gary Rutherford of Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral Service were held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Collins Funeral Home with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsburg.


KENDALL RAELYN SPICER, 2 months old,Charlestown, died Tuesday, July 12th, 2011 at St. Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown.
She was born in Indianapolis on May 5, 2011.
Survivors include her parents: Jason and Jessie Spicer of Charlestown; paternal grandparents: Joe Davis of Charlestown, Lonnie Collier of North Vernon and Vickie Spicer of Charlestown; maternal great-grandparents: Bobbie Reed and Frederick Reed of Kokomo, Ind.
Funeral Service were held on Friday, July 15th, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin.


SHIRLEY ANN WALKER, 77, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
She was born April 18, 1934 in Scottsburg to the late Manson "Toad" and Marguerite (Johnson) Franklin She was a retired employee of US Postal Service in Louisville, a laborer for the old Charlestown Powder Plant (ICI) and the Census Bureau of Jeffersonville. She was a member of the Scottsburg First Christian Church and lived in Scott County all of her life.
Survivors include: her daughters: Victoria Lee Walker of Magglingen, Switzerland and Christie Call of Indianapolis; her son: Michael D. Walker of Lanesville; two grandsons: John Call of Indianapolis and Alec Walker of Scottsburg; four granddaughters: Nicole Walker of Scottsburg, Tiffany Campbell of New Albany, and Mallory and Kelsey Traughber, both of Lanesville; and her great-grandson: Tyson Campbell of New Albany.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Collins Funeral Home.

RUSSELL SUTTON, 83, Salem, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
He was born on April 5, 1928 in Indiana to Eba and Ella Bush Sutton.
Survivors include his son: Jack Sutton of Salem; two sisters: Bernice Groces of Springfield, Miss. and Ruth Fulton of New Albany; and two grandchildren: Robbie Sutton and Sandy Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Eunice Sutton.
Funeral services were held on Monday, 18, 2011 at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial followed in Crown Hill Cemetery.


REMEDIOS A. DANCEL, 85, died Thursday July 14, 2011 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.
She was born April 3, 1926 in Banna Ilocos Norte, Philippines, the daughter of the late Marcelo and Juana (Aguinaldo) Mata. She was married Dec. 27, 1964 to Manuel T. Dancel, MD, who survives. She was a retired employee of the old Dr. Dancel's Family Medical Practice for 24 years in Scottsburg, Indiana. She also worked as a staff nurse at Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky until 1971, was a member of the American Martyrs Catholic Church in Scottsburg, graduated from Ilocos Norte High School in Laoag Ilocos Norte in 1948 and continued her education at the University of St. Tomas graduating in 1952 as a Registered Nurse.
Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters: Clarissa M. (David) Dancel-Warren of Scottsburg, and Michelle L. (Steve) Dancel-Light of Chicago, Ill.; a sister: Rosario M. Sanchez of Banna Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
Mass of Christian Burial was Monday at American Martyrs Catholic Church. Burial followed in Scottsburg Cemetery.

VICTOR SHULER, 74, of Crothersville, died Thursday July 14, 2011 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
He was born September 22, 1936 in Lee County, Kentucky, the son of the late George E. and Evelene (Estes) Shuler. He was married Sept. 9, 2009 to Ruby M. (Miller) Oaks-Shuler, who survives. He was a retired mechanic for Morgan Foods, Inc. in Austin, retiring in 2004 after 51 1/2 years of service and a member of the Church of the Nazerene in Crothersville.
Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters: Teresa (Frank) Schmidt of Scottsburg, Tammy (Greg) Richey of Brownstown,  Victoria Nicole (Wesley) Perkins & Meghan Rose Shuler both of Bedford; a  stepson: Ervin (Linda) Oaks of Crothersville; a stepdaughter: Sherry (Billy) Lee of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters: Ruby Righthouse & Mattie Robinson both of Scottsburg; two brothers: James & Charles Shuler both of Austin; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Clarence, Roy, Ed, Robert & William Shuler.
Funeral services were Sunday, July 17 at Collins Funeral Home. Burial followed in Cana Cemetery in Uniontown.


MARY LOU JACKSON, 69, Salem, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at her home.
She was born on July 7, 1942 in Illinois to William and Crystal Reed McDonald. She was a retired employee of Kimball International and a member of Salem Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include three sons: Jimmy and T. W. Jackson, both of Salem, and Dennis Lee Jackson of Scottsburg; two daughters: LuAnn Armstrong and Kimberly A. Jackson, both of Salem; two brothers: Gary McDonald of Marion, Ind. and David McDonald of Fort Hood, Tx.; a sister: Patsy Eddy of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James L. Jackson; a son: Michael A. Jackson; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Weathers Funeral Home with Rick Main officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
