The 2011 Ohio River Sweep is looking for volunteers to participate in the annual Ohio River Sweep scheduled for Saturday, July 23.

The River Sweep is a shoreline cleanup that extends the entire length of the Ohio River from Pittsburgh, PA to Cairo, IL. Because of extensive flooding along the Ohio this Spring, more and more volunteers are needed.
Each volunteer that participates in the event will be given a free T-shirt for their time and effort.
There are site locations in every county along the river.
Trash bags and gloves will be available at the various site locations for the volunteers.
Corporate sponsors include CSX Railroad, Toyota, Duke Energy, Cargill, Lafarge, Louisville Water Company, West Virginia American Water, Kentucky American Water, DuPont, Louisville Gas and Electric, Gallatin Steel, and many more.
Persons interested in volunteering for the River Sweep should contact Lisa Cochran or Jeanne Ison at ORSANCO, 1-800-359-3977 or visit orsanco.org/riversweep for more information.
The River Sweep is sponsored by the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO).
The Sweep is supported by corporate contributions from industries and companies along the Ohio River.
