A Lexington man is recovering from a back injury caused when he was ejected from the Jeep he was driving on January 11.

Ricky J. Christie, 53, told Scottsburg Patrolman Rodney Watts that he had been headed north on South Main Street. Just before 1 p.m. on that Tuesday, Christie said he lost control of his 1976 Jeep when he hit a patch of snow and ice.
The Jeep ran off the west side of the road, hitting an embankment and turning over.
Christie was ejected from the vehicle. Records indicate he was not using a seatbelt. Scott County EMS technicians assisted him at the scene.
Property damage was estimated at up to $5,000 by Ptl. Watts. Lt. Richey Barton of the Scottsburg department assisted at the scene.
