Basement sale at Mt. Hebron Nov. 13
The Mt. Hebron Church will be holding a basement sale on Saturday, November 13, starting at 8 a.m. The church is located ten miles west of Scottsburg. The community is invited to come out and attend.

Warriorette basketball team scrimmage Nov. 10
The Scottsburg Warriorette Basketball team will have a varsity/jv scrimmage on Wednesday, November 10, starting at 7 p.m. in Meyer Gym. Admission to the scrimmage will be 2 canned goods.

IGMA to meet Nov. 12
‘The Indiana Gospel Music Association (Southern District) will meet Friday, November 12, at  6:30 p.m. att the Austin First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall  230 West Cherry Street in Austin. All gospel music artist’s and public invited to come and participate.

Revival at Scottsburg Church of Christ Nov. 10-12
The Scottsburg Church of Christ will be in revival November 10-12, with Roger Rutter speaking, at 7 p.m. The church is located at 580 North Hyland Street in Scottsburg. The community is invited to attend.

Revival at Shelter for the Sheep through Nov. 12
The Shelter for the Sheep will be in revival now through Friday, Nov. 12, starting at 7 p.m. nightly with Caleb Howard of Whitesburg, Ky., ministering. Pastor Larry Hatton and the congregation invites everyone to attend.

Collection at Austin for Clearinghouse through Nov. 12
Scott County School District 1 in Austin is conducting a food drive for the Scott County Community Clearinghouse from now to November 12. Children can bring in canned good items and non-perishable food items to the school for this event.

Veteran’s Day program at Courtyard Nov. 11
The Scott County Veterans Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 11, at 11 a.m. at the Scott County Courthouse lawn at the Scott County War Memorial. The Scott County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6582 will be serving food after the event.

Crothersville Teen Advisory Group to meet Nov. 30
The Crothersville Teen Advisory Group (TAG) will meet Tuesday, November 30, at 3:30 p.m. in the Crothersville Library meeting room. Anyone in grades 5-12 is welcome to attend.

Library Board to meet November 10
Trustees of the Scott County Public Library will convene for their next monthly business meeting on Wednesday, November 10. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Austin Library on Union Avenue off U.S. Highway 31 North. The public is welcome to attend.

American Can Company luncheon Nov. 13
Retirees and former workers of the old American Can Company in Austin will meet for a late lunch on Saturday, November 13. The event will take place at 2 p.m. at Ryan’s Steakhouse in Seymour. A $10 Ryan’s gift certificate will be given to each family to help offset meal costs.

Austin Boy Scouts Chili cook-off Nov. 13
The Austin Boy Scout Troop No. 65 will be having a chili cook-off on Saturday, November 13, at the Scott County VFW on U.S. 31 at 2 p.m. Anyone can participate in this event. The boys will be judging and will give out first and second place awards. For more information call 794-3511.

LTC Care ribbon-cutting slated
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new business, LTC Care Assessments, has been planned by Ambassadors of the Greater Scott County Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, November 10. The business evaluates the physical well-being of people who are being cared for in private homes or nursing facilities.

Free family craft program Nov. 18
The Jackson County Public Library will offer a free family craft program at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, at the Crothersville Library. Families will create “Tree of Thanks” mobiles. Registration is required and is limited to 8 families.

Bingo Nov. 17 at the Scott County VFW
The Scott County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6582 will be holding bingo tournament on Wednesday, November 17, at 7 p.m. Payout no less than $50 of all games. Three jackpots up to $1,000, pull tabs, door prizes will be available. The kitchen will be open serving fish sandwiches, burgers, fries, onion rings.

Church yard sale at Vienna UMC Nov. 13
The Vienna United Methodist Church will hold a church yard sale on Saturday, November 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is located two blocks east of U.S. 31, at 398 East State Road 356. There will be all types of merchandise. Refreshments will be available. For more details call 752-1461.

Free book discussion Nov. 17
The Jackson County Public Library will hold a free book discussion for adults at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, in the Crothersville Library meeting room. This month’s book is “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life” by Barbara Kingsolver. Anyone wishing to participate may pick up a copy of the book at the Crothersville Library.

Revival at Fourth Street Church
The Fourth Street Pentecostal Church in Austin will be in a revival starting Thursday, November 11 through Sunday, November 14, with Larry Bailey from Hazard, Ky., starting each night at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Special singing each night. Pastor Green Neace and Assistant Pastor Wendall Eldridge invites the community to attend.

Watershed meeting Nov. 10
The Central Muscatatuck Watershed Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10, at the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.Please RSVP by November 9, for those planning to attend the meeting by calling Casie at 689-6410, ext. 5.

DAR to host Veterans Luncheon Nov. 13
The General Charles Scott Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting their Third annual Veterans Luncheon on Sat. November 13, at 12:30pm at Scottsburg Fire Station #2 on the corner of Railroad and Cherry St.downtown Scottsburg. All Veterans that now reside in Scott County and a guest are invited to attend.

SAMA to host Community Thanksgiving Service
Scott Area Ministerial Association will host a Community Thanksgiving Service November 21, at 6 p.m. at the Scottsburg First Baptist Church. The theme is United in Prayer. The service will include special prayers of thanksgiving, prayers for our community, a choir with members from community churches and testimonies of results of prayer. Everyone is invited to attend and there will be a time of fellowship following the service.
