|Cecil Smith named Citizen of the Year|

Cecil Smith was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award at the annual Washington County Chamber of Commerce dinner.
Smith was chosen based on his commitment and support of the community, his leadership skills, desire for positive impact, integrity and creativity.
He served as the editor for a local publishing company since 1965.
He has worked to grow and develop the Depot Rail Road Museum, located at the John Hay Center.
He serves on the parish council at St. Patrick Catholic Church and has also served several past terms as well.
Jared and Michael Baird were awarded the Emerging Youth Entrepreneur of the Year.
Cornucopia Farm Produce is operated by Michael and Jared Baird.
This business provides an outlet for customers to obtain fresh produce.
This is the second year that the Baird brothers have operated their business.
Both Michael and Jared are volunteers for Relay for Life.
They served as 4-H volunteers, following 10 years as 4-H members.
Michael now attends Purdue University majoring in Horticulture Production and Marketing and Agribusiness Management.
Jared serves on the Washington County Youth Foundation and County 4-H council. He is the current vice-president of the County 4-H junior leaders.
The winners were announced at the annual Chamber of Commerce dinner held on October 23, at Southern Hills Church.
