East Washington School Corporation in conjunction with the Washington County Health Department is  offering a vaccination clinic  at the High school cafeteria for students that are not up-to-date on their vaccinations of Varicella, meningococcal, or Tdap. The dates are Oct 27th and 28th 1-5 pm.
Middle School students will be vaccinated on Oct 27th and High School students will be vaccinated on Oct 28th.  Parents wishing to be present when their child is vaccinated may request their child be vaccinated after 3 pm.
Letters are being mailed to the parents of students who are not up-to-date on these vaccinations.  In order to participate in the clinic, students must return a completed vaccination consent form that is signed by the parent or guardian.  Vaccinations cannot be given to any student that does not have this consent form filled out and signed.  Consent forms are being included in the parent letters or can be obtained on the school corporation website (www.ewsc.k12.in.us).  Forms may be returned to the school nurse.
It is our hope that parents take advantage of these clinics, in order to ensure their child is up-to-date on his/her vaccinations.  Parents choosing not to take advantage of this opportunity are encouraged to contact their primary physician and have their child immunized by their doctor.
If parents choose not to have their child immunized, then the student will be excluded from school as of Friday, October 29, 2010.
This exclusion will remain in effect until the parent provides proof of an up-to-date vaccination record to the school.
