A re-enactment of Morgan’s Raid on historic Beck’s Mill, south of Salem, will take place Saturday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m.
General John Hunt Morgan and his men, portrayed by the 9th Kentucky Cavalry, plan to visit the restored mill, much as they did July 10, 1863.
In addition to the Raiders, Mrs. Stonewall Jackson and Indiana Governor (during the Civil War) and Mrs. Morton will be in attendance.
As part of the day’s activities, the mill will host demonstrations in lacemaking, spinning, and weaving. There will also be wagon rides ($2 a person), and refreshments.
The mill will be in operation from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults; children through age 16 are free with a paid adult admission.
Beck’s Mill is located south of Salem on Beck’s Mill Road.
