2010 Miss Clark County fair queen pageant to be held at Providence High School

Eight young women will be competing for the title of Miss Clark County this year.

Miss Clark County is the official hostess of the Clark County 4-H Fair which is set for July 9-17 and then represents Clark County in the Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant August 20-22 in Indianapolis.

The competition is based on three levels of participation: private interview with the judges in the afternoon and the professional wear and evening gown at the public pageant in the evening.

Amy Herrmann, 2009 Fair Queen will crown Miss Clark County 2010 on Tuesday, June 29 at 7 p.m. The pageant will be held at Providence High School Robinson Performing Arts Center. The public is invited. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children under 12.

The candidates for the title of 2010 Miss Clark County are:

Emilee Ann Carver is 19 years old and a sophomore at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany. Her parents are Ron and Sandy Carver. She is sponsored by R.L. Jones Realty and Auction of Sellersburg.

Jenna Elayne Crick is 17 years old and a senior at Henryville High School in Henryville. Her parents are Jim and Jodie Crick. She is sponsored by Dan Cristiani Excavating of Sellersburg.

Elizabeth Bernice Dickson is 18 years old and a freshman at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany. Her parents are Terry and Linda Dickson. She is sponsored by the Clark County Extension Homemakers.

Paige Clarissa Conrad is 18 years old and a sophomore at University of Louisville in Louisville. Her parents are Greg and Kelly Conrad. She is sponsored by Earth & Fire Pottery By You of New Albany.

Candace Mariah Popp is 16 years old and a junior at Our Lady of Providence High School in Clarksville. Her parents are Ralph and Patty Popp. She is sponsored by Barbara Coleman and Barbara Popp Schuler Bauer Real Estate Services of New Albany.

April Elizabeth Gibson is 20 years old and a junior at the University of Louisville in Louisville. Her parents are Rick and Donna Gibson. She is sponsored by Carriage Ford of Clarksville.

Kayla Sue O’Brien is 20 years old and a junior at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg. Her parents are Shawn and Dava O’Brien. She is sponsored by Bryan Jackson State Farm Insurance of Jeffersonville.

Samantha Jo Forehand is 20 years old and a junior at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany. Her mother is Paula Anne Forehand. She is sponsored by GAP Fabrications of Henryville.
