The award-winning Floyd Central Theatre Arts Department will be offering a summer arts camp from July 26th through the 31st at Floyd Central High School.
In celebration of the theatre group’s main stage production next season of the musical, “Willy Wonka,” the theme for the camp is “Pure Imagination.”
The camp will run each day from 9 a.m. to noon and will include many areas of interest.
Camp participants may choose from sections including acting; dance; vocal music; technical theatre; art; special effects make-up; puppetry and play writing. Groupings will be grades 2 & 3; grades 4 & 5; and grades 6, 7 & 8 as of this fall.
Parents will be invited for an ending “picnic” performance at noon on Saturday,
> the 31st to view their child’s projects and performance they’ve worked on during the week.
The cost for the week, which includes a morning snack, tee shirt and all activities for the week is $100 per participant.
Registration for the camp may be made by calling the F.C. Theatre Line at 812-542-2284 or by sending in a reservation to: Floyd Central Theatre Camp, Attn: Chris Bundy, 6575 Old Vincennes Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119.
Registration should include the child and parent’s name, full address, phone number, and the student’s grade in school as of next fall. Fees will be paid on the first day of the camp.
Other than being a positive and enjoyable activity for the summer, the camp will also be a great way for young performers to prepare for auditions in the coming year.
