FC takes fourth at Evansville; JV is first PDF Print E-mail

The Floyd Central High School boys' varsity golf team traveled to Evansville last Saturday for the Evansville Memorial Varsity Invitational, which was held at The Players Club (par 72).

Play was shorten to 9 holes due to a rain. 

Floyd Central finished fourth with a team score of 158.

Jay Holderman led the Highlanders with a +1 score of 37, followed by David Frank and Jared Sturgeon with 40, Sam Gesenhues 41, and Brad Bowmann 43.

The event was won by Evansville Memorial's Blue team with 151 and the school's red team shot 156, taking second.

Evansville Harrison was third with 156.

The Floyd Central Junior Varsity team traveled to Lafayette for the Lafayette-Jefferson JV Invitational, which was held at the Lafayette Municipal Golf Course (par 72).

The Highlanders finished first with a team score of 318, followed by Avon with a 325, and Center Grove 326.

A total of 18 teams participated.

Devin Jenkins (FC) and Austin Peckam (FC) placed second and third overall with scores of 79, rounding out the team for FC was Alex Beyer 80, Daniel Shepard 80, and Matt Reed 89.
