|Accident claims the life of Salem's Von Elliott|

Von O. Elliott, 71, Salem, died in a two-car accident just a little more than a half-mile from his home on N. Elliott Road on Friday, April 16.
Kasey J. Tabor, 35, Pekin was taken to by Know County EMS to St. Vincent Salem Hospital where she was treated with bruising and contusions.
According to the accident filed by Washington County Sheriff's Deputy Wayne Blevins, Tabor was traveling west bound on Canton South Boston Road when the vehicle driven by Elliott pulled into her lane of travel.
Tabor was unable to avoid a collision with Elliott's vehicle and struck his driver's side door.
The impact spun Elliott's vehicle around and ran off the north side of the roadway and down through a field.
Elliott was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened at 7:09 a.m. Elliott was apparently traveling home after having breakfast at the store in South Boston, which was a regular ritual for him before returning home to farm.
According to the police report, Tabor was wearing her seatbelt, but Elliott was not.
In addition to the Washington County Sheriff's Department and Knox County EMS, the Indiana State Police and Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene.
