The Scott County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in determining who is responsible for mailbox vandalism in the southeast part of the county.
Vandals were apparently riding in a small red Pontiac with a T-top. They damaged and destroyed about 25 mailboxes of homes along Reeves Road, Kinderhook Road and Radio Tower Road over the past weekend.
Persons having information about the incidents or knowing the identity of those responsible are asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 752-8400 or the department's 24-hour Tip Line at 752-7898. They can also call Sheriff Lizenby directly at 595-0790.
General information about the case was dispersed on Monday, March 1, by Sheriff Lizenby through the new Nixle cell phone texting and e-mail system. Persons are encouraged to go to the Nixle website at http://nixle.us and sign up to receive such updates and news.
