All area American Legion Auxiliary members are invited to attend a Leadership Workshop, sponsored by Units 28 & 42, held at Floyds Knobs, with presentation by Department of Indiana Leadership Chairman Nancy Leighty
“It may say ‘workshop’ in the title, but it will be more fun than work!” That’s the way Floyds Knobs American Legion Auxiliary President Ann Carr describes the upcoming Leadership Workshop to be presented by Nancy Leighty, Department of Indiana Leadership Chairman and Past President of the Indiana organization, on Saturday, March 20 from 9 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. Sponsored jointly by Bonnie Sloan Unit 28 and William Zeb Longest Unit 42 American Legion Auxiliaries, the day of discovery will be held at the American Legion Post 42, Floyds Knobs, 4530 Paoli Pike, and all American Legion Auxiliary members in District 8 are encouraged to attend.


Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with coffee and rolls. Round-table discussion will begin at 9:30 with a lunch break from 12:30 – 1 p.m. There will be lots of door prize drawings throughout the day. The registration fee of $5 will cover the cost of materials, lunch and snacks for the day, and every attendee will receive a gift. Attendees are asked to please call either Irma Ward at 812-283-4741 or Ann Carr at 812-923-9863 and pre-register so there will sufficient materials.
“This is an opportunity for our members to learn about our Auxiliary programs first hand,” said Irma Ward, President of Unit 28. “They will learn from our Leadership presenter as well as from all the other attendees.” Unit 42 President Ann Carr concurred, “We are so fortunate to have someone of Nancy’s caliber doing the training in Southern Indiana. She has been active at the Unit, District and Department levels, serving as Indiana’s Department President during program year 2003-2004. She is also active at the National level in Membership, Public Relations, Girls State and Girls Nation.”
