Pre-enrollment of kindergarten students for the Fall of 2010 and first grade students (that are not presently enrolled in kindergarten) will be on April 6 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Morgan Elementary School. Parents and guardians are asked to go to the gym during the scheduled times. No testing of children will be done during pre-enrollment.
A child must be 5 years of age on or before August 1 to enroll in kindergarten and 6 years of age on or before August 1 to enroll in the first grade. Parents must bring an official birth certificate from the Health Department for their child at the time of registration. Hospital birth certificates cannot be accepted. Parents will receive dental and medical forms, which are to be filled out by the dentist and doctor and returned to the school before classes begin in August.
State law requires proof of immunization against Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, Measles (both Rubeola and Rubella), Mumps, Varicella (Chickenpox) and Polio by enrollment. No child will be permitted to attend school unless he or she is either fully immunized or has begun his or her immunization and produced a schedule for completion which has been signed by a physician.
Kindergarten students now enrolled at Morgan are automatically enrolled in first grade and need not register.
