On March 18, nearly 500 business owners and 100 exhibitors will gather at Horseshoe Southern Indiana for the 11th annual Minority & Women Business Owners Conference sponsored by One Southern Indiana. Attendees are expected to arrive from throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Unlike any event in this region, the conference is open to all business owners and targets certified, disadvantaged, and veteran-owned entities as well as those seeking to do business with these certified business groups. Business owners interested in learning more about becoming certified by an accrediting agency are also encouraged to attend.
The conference features a full range of conference activity beginning at 8 a.m. Registration includes breakfast, lunch, exhibitors, and a selection of six workshops including social networking, strategic planning, leadership, branding and marketing, wellness and stress relief, and sales success.
Minority and women-owned businesses certified by accredited agencies should plan to attend one of two Match Maker’s session. During these sessions, business owners will meet directly with corporations and other agencies offering contracts to accredited businesses. A Certification Connection session occurs at the same time for business owners who wish to learn more about the process of becoming a certified business or acquiring another certification.
Attendees may register for the Minority and Women Business Owners Conference by visiting www.1si.org or calling 812-945-0266. Registration is $110 by February 26 and $125 through March 18. The registration fee includes participation in all events. One Southern Indiana membership is not required for participation. Exhibit space ranges in price from $200 to $400 and includes all events for two people.
The Minority and Women Business Owners Conference is supported by many generous sponsors including Chase, L & D Mail Masters, Clark County Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Coalition, Horseshoe Southern Indiana, and Business First.
