Once again, it’s time for the annual Bill Cope Chili Supper. Mr. Cope was a teacher at East Washington who dedicated a large portion of his life to our students. He passed away July 1997 after a battle with cancer. This chili supper is a fund raising effort to continue his spirit of generosity by providing a scholarship in his name to an Eastern High School graduate. The 13th annual chili supper is hosted by the East Washington Dollars for Scholars
The chili supper will take place in the Eastern high school cafeteria in Pekin on Saturday, January 30 prior to the boys’ basketball games with Salem. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until 7 p.m. A meal of chili, drink, sandwich or hotdog and dessert is $4.75. A la carte items include: Sandwich- $1.25, Chili-$1.50; Desserts- $1; Drinks (with refill)$1.50.
