The Charlestown Lady Pirates hosted the Lady Panthers of Corydon (0?2) last Friday night in the 2009?10 Mid?Southern Conference season opener for both teams.
The Lady Pirates were victorious 44?37 improving their early season record at 1?1.
Senior guard Amanda Miller finished with 26 points, shooting perfect from the field and 16-for-16 from the charity stripe.
The perfect evening at the line gave Miller a second school free throw record for consecutive free throws in one game.
Miller breaks the 1979 record previously held by Marva Craig for 11-out-of-11 made in one game.
Miller then broke the record she set against Corydon when the Lady Pirates traveled to Silver Creek on Saturday. She went a perfect 20-20 from the free throw line during the Lady Pirates 62-45 victory over the Lady Dragons. Miller had a game-high 27 points in the contest.
Miller broke her first school free throw record last season when she made 21 consecutive free throws for the season category record.
She completed the night being named the Tumbletown Gym Lady Pirate Player of the game by Charlestown Pirate Pride Sports Broadcasting.
