The Borden Volunteer Fire Department and The Borden Lions Club are offering free smoke alarms to the Borden Community.
Saturday, December 7, at the Borden Community Center, The Fire Department and The Lions Club will be giving away free smoke alarms between 9 a.m. and Noon. The only requirements are you’re from the Borden area and you agree to install them.
The community center is located between the light on Hwy. 60 and the Borden School, next to the Railroad track. Please use the main entrance.
The project was supported by New Washington State Bank, Salem True Value, Wal Mart and other donations from the community. The manpower is being provided by the Fire Department and The Lions Club.
Lion President Chris Gray said, “We appreciate working with the Borden Fire Department. It’s been a while since this project has been done and we hope that if people don’t have a working smoke detector they will participate in this life saving event. We look forward to seeing you there.”
The Lions club is a local group working to improve the quality of the lives in the Borden Community.
