Helping high school seniors Close the Deal on College!
In the Greater Louisville region, elected officials are joining with secondary and post?secondary institutions and business organizations to help students make the transition from high school to college and other post?secondary education or training. Many cities and towns are concerned about the ability of the future workforce to fill high?paying, knowledge?based jobs. Close the Deal is a low?cost way to make a real difference for the future of any community!
Greater Clark County Schools will focus on students at Charlestown High School, Jeffersonville High School, and New Washington High School. GCCS will host a Close the Deal event at each high school to generate excitement among the students about applying to and enrolling in college and receiving financial aid.
“Table Talks” are the focus of the Close the Deal program. Seniors will be assigned a table and will participate in a total of three 20 minute discussions. The adult leading the discussion will rotate to a different table at the end of 20 minutes. So at the end of the event, students will hear from an admissions professional, a financial aid professional and a student who has been through the college selection process before.
Following the “Table Talks” there will be a college information fair of the colleges represented by Greater Louisville, Inc.
The three Close the Deal events will be held on the following dates. Each event will last approximately 2 to 3 hours.
The events will be held at:
*Charlestown High School? Wednesday, December 2 at 10:30 a.m. Charlestown High School is located at #1 Pirate Place in Charlestown.
*New Washington High School? Wednesday, December 9 at 11:30 a.m. New Washington High School is located at 226 State Road 62 in New Washington.
*Jeffersonville High School? Tuesday, December 15 at 7:45 a.m. Jeffersonville High School is located at 2315 Allison Lane in Jeffersonville.
