     Superintendent Phyllis Ammick provided an update to the board regarding the Governor's press conference on October 8. The Governor reported that state revenue was $254 million below projections and that further cuts to the budget, including state support to schools must be considered.
    Superintendent Ammick recommend the board to approve the Resolution to adopt the Budgets, CPF and bus replacement plan. The board approved 4-0.
    Superintendent Ammick presented to the board a License agreement with Neola, whom are a company that follow Indiana laws to make sure the school policies are updated  and or added when needed. The board requested to take it under consideration until the November Board meeting.
    The board approved the proposed payment agreement for the Band Boosters portion of payments due for the band uniforms.
    The following personnel changes were approved:
    The retirement of Judith Rightley as of December 31, 2009; the resignation of Troy Hennette as girl's golf coach; medical leave for April Holder from January 5, 2010 to February 2 and then work part-time three days per week until March 2;unpaid leave request by Rose Ann Callahan for November 19 and 20; Valerie Myers for employment during medical leave of Hannah Johanningsmeier; employment of Ronnie McNew as second shift school custodian; Stuart Collins as permanent bus driver for route #5; Mark Collins as computer technician; add one hour to already five hour cook position for Charlotte Terrell; Justin Long as Varsity Wrestling Coach; add second girls  Junior Varsity coaching position and Michael Prichard as Girls Junior Varsity Coach; Rachel Alvey as seventh grade girls basketball coach and Andrew Smith as seventh grade boys basketball coach.
    The board requested that a survey of the parent-teacher communication be given to teachers and the community regarding this year's process.
    The board and public was informed that The Battle of the Bands will take place at Eastern High School on Saturday, November 7 and the Regional Dance team competition will take place on February 27,2010.
    The next Eastern School Board meeting will be Tuesday, November 10.
