North Harrison’s boys’ golf team defeated Eastern 3-2 in a match last week, and as far as North Harrison Coach Bart Bigham can recall, it’s been a while since his team has won over Eastern.
“It’s the first time in a while that we’ve beaten them,” Bigham said. “They’ve pretty much dominated us in the last few years.”
It was the no. 3 singles and the two doubles teams that saved North Harrison.
    T. J. Carver def. Eastern’s Wayne Collard 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 at the third singles spot, while at no. 1 doubles, Alec Dones and Bryce Nowak def. Eastern’s duo of Terrance Chastain and Josiah Watters, 6-2, 7-5. In the no. 2 doubles position, North’s pair of Dakota Bosler and Lincoln Jones def. Eastern’s Drew Logue and Matt Pickerell, 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
At the no. 1 singles spot, Eastern’s Michael Doebler def. North Harrison’s Sean Drury, 6-0, 6-1.
At the no. 2 singles spot, Jayben Temple of Eastern def. North’s Jacob Outcalt, 6-4, 6-1.
