The Pirate football team got some injuries healed and a new offensive scheme to dominate the Lions (0?7) on Salem’s homecoming night.  
The Pirates (4?3) only needed 50 plays, generating 330 yards of total offense, to score 44 points on the Lions.

SC girls golf takes conference title for first time in school history, earn trip to Regional PDF Print E-mail

The Silver Creek Lady Dragons golf team left their mark in the history books.
The girls made school history recently by taking the Mid Southern Conference title. While the goal was reached, the girls were just not satisfied. They went on to be runners-up at Sectional to Floyd Central and participated in Regional at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Evansville. The regional appearance was also the first time in school history for the girls golf program.
Head Coach Joe Ledbetter was also named Mid Southern Conference Coach of the Year.

Autumn on the River Prince and Princess contest set October 16 PDF Print E-mail

The fourth annual Autumn on the River Prince and Princess contest will be held on Saturday, October 16 at 11 a.m. This year’s contest will be held on the main stage of the festival and will kick-off the weekend’s live entertainment.

Contestants must be between the ages of four and six on October 16. The contest entry fee is $20 and is limited to the first 15 applicants. The deadline to enter is October 6. Proper attire for the contest is dressy, but not pageant type, dresses for the princess candidates and collared shirts and slacks for the prince contestants.

Pirates lose first quarter lead, fall to Corydon Central 22-16

 

Last Friday night was an outstanding night for high school football as the almost 100 degree day turned into a nice, cooler evening with a slight breeze for fans to enjoy a Mid Southern Conference match up.

Fans arrived early to Dutch Reis Field, many to enjoy the Pirate Grill before the game and help support the Pirate and Lady Pirate basketball teams, to get the perfect seat to witness the Mid Southern Conference clash of the home standing Pirates and the Corydon Central Panthers.

Celebrate Memphis will be held October 1 and 2 in the six acre field by Fill’n Station Café next to American Flea Market Drive in Memphis. The festival will be held on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
