Rumors and condolences were swirling on social media Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, but the Washington County Sheriff's Department, as of 10 a.m. is still not confirming the identities of two individuals killed in an accident early Tuesday morning on State Road 160 five miles east of Salem.

The members of the Jonathan Jennings Student Council learned how valuable a penny can be.  During the week of November 1 through 5, the Student Council under the leadership of sponsor, Ashley Padgett, empowered their student body to raise $2,786 by having children bring in their loose change. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s( LLS )Pennies for Patients program, one of LLS’s national School & YouthSM raises money to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma while providing information and support services to patients and their families.
