The Monon Railroad ceased to exist 40 years ago when it merged into the Louisville & Nashville system, but Monon trains continue to operate today as they traverse the miniature towns of Salem, Pekin and Campbellsburg in the basement of the John Hay Center’s Depot railroad museum.

Campbellsburg Festival Parade Winners PDF Print E-mail

On this beautiful sunny day with a slight breeze blowing, American Flags flying, sirens from the Fire Trucks, chug, chug from the Big Farm Tractors, Garden Tractors, Ball Teams, Queens and Princesses galore, Horses Prancing and the laughter of children and more with 55 judged entries, passing by for all to enjoy. Trophies were awarded the winning entries and for those who were unable to attend the award presentation and receive their trophy may pick them up at the Campbellsburg Town Hall office. A really big thank you to the parade organizers, for a great job and all the hard work they put in pulling this event together.

A season that started 0-4 for the West Washington turned when the Lady Senators won five games in a row.
They continued to hit their stride with only the school’s second-ever PLAC championship in softball and then last Thursday, they continued their magical run with a sectional title.

Do you know a high school student looking for a summer internship or an opportunity to do some job shadowing?  If so, send HS students in the direction of Youth First.  Youth First is proud to introduce the K.E.Y.S. Program, a summer leadership program designed to develop the employability of our young people.  Based on conversations with local businesses and research about what other communities are doing to develop their pipeline of talent and address the “brain drain”, the Keep Encouraging Youth to Succeed (K.E.Y.S.) Program has been developed.

Lots of activities are planned as part of the Campbellsburg All-American Country Hoedown, which will run May 31 and June 1-3.
The theme for this year’s hoedown is “A Blast from the Past.”
