Members of the Borden Youth Soccer League are anticipating another successful soccer season.
“Our Board is always excited to be getting ready for our upcoming season. This will be our eighth season and we hope that the 100 plus kids that enjoy your league each year are excited too,” said Nick Ray, Borden Youth Soccer League President.

Fans can follow U of L games in the Bahamas on TV PDF Print E-mail

University of Louisville men's basketball fans will be able to follow the Cardinals' on their foreign trip to the Bahamas through local television, radio and internet coverage of the events. WHAS-TV, an ABC affiliate in Louisville, will televise the Cardinals' August 11 and 12, 2011 games against Bahamian teams live at 7:30 p.m., EST. Pre-game shows for each telecast will begin at 7 p.m. The games will not be televised in high definition because of production limitations on the island. Equipment is being flown onto the island to accommodate the telecast.

Washington County Artisans and Farmers looking to start market in Pekin PDF Print E-mail

Folks who live in Pekin and the eastern part of the county will have a Artisans and Farmer’s market of their own in 2012 thanks to the efforts of Awareness Washington County’s 2011 class and Alan Bishop.
“AWC is going to be part of this,” Bishop said. “They have grant writers and are going to be part of the board.”
At this point, Bishop is on the hunt for vendors.

Lanesville board gets progress report on school renovation project PDF Print E-mail

The Lanesville Board of School Trustees got word from Supt. Steve Morris on the status of the school’s renovation project.
Since so many projects were already being done, the board decided to go ahead and do a few other projects that had been on the back burner.
