    This year applications will not be accepted at the schools.  Applications will be taken for the program at the West Side Baptist Church, in Salem on November 14, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and again on November, 15, 2-4 p.m..  Those applying will need to bring with them proof of residency.   In addition the application must include gross income for the past 12 months, for everyone living in the home.
    Applications are available at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, located at 201 E Market St., Suite 104, Salem, and the Salem Public Library, located on Main St., in Salem.  Applications will also be available on November 14 & 15 at West Side Baptist Church.  An appointment time is not necessary.
Applicants must verify residency and provide their income for everyone in the household for the past 12 months.
    The changes are being made to make the program more efficient, in order to help more youth.
    The Christmas Assistance Program works with numerous organizations, including Salvation Army, Shop with a Cop, Colie Claus, and churches, organizations and individuals.  The program is available to Washington County youth ages 16 and below.
